1997

Full circle: With the completion on the third dome, it was time to renovate of the first dome, now 24 years old, starting by replacing the home-made triangle skylights with store-bought square ones.

1998

David Merry brought his semi tractor and removed the no longer needed trailer box from the back yard.
The first dome now had new skylights, front window and shingles.
Wintah!
Inside the small dome, the pine board paneling was removed from the northwest side, sanded, varnished and reinstalled after rewiring and addition of bubble pack insulation.

2005

Finally got the courage to renovate the southeast side. The kitchen was gutted, and we cooked and ate out in the garage all summer.
The sanitary drain didn’t flow very well, so the floor was busted to uncover the 4” PVC. Ditto the cat investigates.
The source of the problem: a foot ball-sized rock crushed the pipe under the middle of the floor.
All new waste plumbing stubbed in. The downstairs half bath in being rearranged.
Ready to pour; the original floor pitched down to a center floor drain, which meant the all furniture had to be shimmed level.
Let the pour begin. Bill Chenoweth assists. The screed board pivots on the center floor drain plate.
All screeded and bull floated.
The floor edges were feathered out with Sil-Pro concrete patch.
The kitchen walls going back in with new wiring, and stairs up to the loft.
Original cabinets reinstalled with new counter tops. New range installed.
New composite wood flooring from Marden’s covers the level concrete.
A new range hood and bath exhaust share a custom-made exhaust duct.
